Gulamba

A classic Maharashtrian recipe of flavourful raw mango jam is a perfect accompaniment to make an ordinary meal extraordinary. It can also be spread on bread slices which will be greatly appreciated by children.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Peel the mangoes, remove the seeds and cut them into 1 cm cubes.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan, add mango cubes and salt, mix and sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add jaggery, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder, mix well and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes or till the mango cubes soften.
  4. Transfer onto a plate and allow to cool.
  5. Store in air tight container and use as required.
