Ingredients

  • 250 grams red pumpkin, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ¾ cup grated cheddar cheese
  • A pinch of black pepper powder
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 1 small sweet potato, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons refined flour (maida)
  • Oil for greasing + for deep frying
  • Corn flour for rolling
  • Tomato ketchup for serving

Method

  1. Take mozzarella cheese in a bowl, add cheddar cheese, black pepper powder, sugar and mix well. 
  2. Take boiled pumpkin in a bowl, add sweet potato, salt, black pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder and refined flour and mix well.
  3. Divide the cheese mixture into equal portions and roll into balls.
  4. Grease your palms, divide the pumpkin mixture into equal portions and make a cavity in the centre of each portion. Keep a cheese mixture ball in the cavity, gather the edges together and seal properly.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread cornflour on a plate
  6. Roll the cheese stuffed pumpkin balls in cornflour, slide some of them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Deep-fry the remaining balls similarly. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
