Ingredients list for Batter Fried Mixed Nuts

  • 15-20 Almonds
  • 15-20 Cashewnuts
  • 1/4 cup Peanuts
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 2 tablespoons Rice flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Soda bicarbonate
  • to taste Salt
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala

Method

  1. Dry roast almonds, cashewnuts and peanuts separately for three to four minutes or till crisp. In a large bowl combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, soda bicarbonate and salt.
  2. Add enough water to make a thick batter and whisk till smooth. Add the roasted nuts in the batter and mix. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the nuts, one by one, till crisp and golden brown.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain onto an absorbent paper. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve.
