Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Chatpate Potato Bites Recipe

  • Potatoes cut into wedges 4 medium

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves roughly chopped 1/2 cup

  • Mint leaves 10-15

  • Ginger roughly chopped 1 inch piece

  • Garlic 5-6 cloves

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep fry the potato wedges on medium heat till golden and crisp.

Step 2

Drain on absorbent paper and set aside.

Step 3

Grind coriander leaves, mint leaves, ginger and garlic with sufficient water to a fine paste.

Step 4

Heat one tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 5

Add the red chilli flakes and ground paste, mix well and sauté for three to four minutes.

Step 6

Add the fried potatoes, salt and lemon juice and cook for two minutes more.

Step 7

Serve hot.
