Chicken Crumb Chops

Ingredients list for Chicken Crumb Chops

  • 8 Chicken drumsticks
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3-4 Black peppercorns
  • 3-4 Dried red chillies
  • 1 inch Ginger roughly chopped
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • for deep-frying Oil

Method

  1. Dry roast the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns and dried red chillies till fragrant.
  2. Grind together the roasted spices with ginger, garlic, poppy seeds and salt into a fine paste.
  3. Take the chicken drumsticks in a bowl. Add the prepared paste, mix and refrigerate to marinate for two to three hours.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan. Add the chicken drumsticks along with the marinade and cook on medium heat till dry.
  5. Break the egg in a bowl, add salt and whisk well. Spread the breadcrumbs on a plate.
  6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  7. Dip the cooked chicken in the egg and coat with the breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep-fry the chicken in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Serve hot.
