Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Finger Sandwich Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts , cut into strips 250 grams

  • Bread loaf 1

  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Cornflakes 2 cups

  • Breadcrumbs ,dried 3/4 cup

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Mayonnaise for spreading

  • Tomato ketchup for spreading and serving

  • Dijon mustard paste for spreading

  • Iceberg lettuce leaves a few

  • Tomato , cut into roundels 1 medium

  • Cheese slices 2

Method

Step 1

Take chicken strips in a bowl, add garlic paste, lemon juice, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix well.

Step 2

Coarsely crush cornflakes in another bowl. Add breadcrumbs, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 4

Coat the marinated chicken strips with cornflakes-breadcrumbs mixture, slide into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Heat a non-stick tawa.

Step 6

Halve the bread loaf horizontally and toast on hot tawa from both sides till golden brown. Transfer on a platter.

Step 7

Spread some mayonnaise on both the toasted bread halves. Spread some tomato ketchup on the top half and mustard paste on the base half.

Step 8

Place few torn lettuce leaves, fried chicken strips, tomato roundels and cheese slices on the base half and cover with the top halve.

Step 9

Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
