Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Tikka Puff Cups Recipe

  • Chicken Tikka readymade, cut into small pieces 250 grams

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 teaspoon + for dusting

  • puff pastry dough 400 grams

  • Egg beaten 1

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Red chilli powder ½ teaspoon

  • Fresh cream ¼ cup

  • Chaat masala ½ teaspoon

  • coriander leaves chopped, 1 teaspoon + to garnish

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to180° C.

Step 2

Dust the worktop with some flour. Place the dough on it and roll out into 1 inch thick sheet.

Step 3

Cut out 8 roundels with a large cookie cutter. Place a smaller cookie cutter in the center of 4 roundels and cut to give them a doughnut shape.

Step 4

Place the 4 solid roundels on a baking tray. Apply water along their edges, place the 4 doughnut shaped roundels over them and press along the edges to seal.

Step 5

Brush with beaten egg, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 6

Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onion, mix and sauté till the onion turns translucent.

Step 7

Add flour, mix and sauté. Add chili powder and mix well. Add cream and mix. Add little water, mix and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 8

Add chicken tikka and mix well. Add some more water to adjust the consistency. Cook for a minute.

Step 9

Add chaat masala and coriander leaves, mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 10

Press the insides of the baked puff with a spoon and fill them with the prepared chicken mixture. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
