Ingredients list for Chocolate Naankhatai

  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Refined flour
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons Almond meal
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • a pinch Salt
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • for drizzling Chocolate syrup

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160˚C.
  2. Sift together refined flour, gram flour, baking powder, baking soda, coffee powder, cocoa powder and almond meal into a bowl. Add powdered sugar and mix well. Add salt and mix well.
  3. Add ghee and mix well to form medium soft dough.
  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Divide the dough into equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and flatten it slightly and keep on the lined tray. Make a small dent in centre of each cookie. If the cookies have a cracked surface, add a little more ghee to the dough and mix well.
  5. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Bring the tray out of the oven and let the cookies cool down.
  6. Drizzle chocolate syrup on a serving platter and arrange the nankhatais over it and serve.
