Ingredients for Crab Chilli Toast Recipe

  • Crabmeat 1 cup

  • Fresh red chilli 1

  • White bread slices 6-8

  • Oil for drizzling

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Spring onion greens finely chopped ½ cup

  • Red chilli sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Mayonnaise 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Mozzarella cheese Grated For topping

  • coriander sprig fresh for garnishing


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180ºC.

Step 2

Place a medium sized cookie cutter over the bread slices and cut roundels. Place these roundels on a baking tray and drizzle some oil on top. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, transfer onto the worktop and cool.

Step 3

Put crab meat, onion, spring onion greens, red chilli sauce, mayonnaise and lemon juice in a bowl.

Step 4

Finely chop bird’s eye chilli, add to the bowl and mix well. Add salt and mix again.

Step 5

Put a portion of the crabmeat mixture over the baked bread roundels, top with some cheese and place them on a baking tray. Place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake till cheese melts.

Step 6

Serve hot garnished with coriander sprigs.
