Ingredients 

  • 2 1/2 cups yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green chilli, slit
  • 3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a non-stick kadai. Add the cumin seeds and sauté till they begin to change colour. Add the onion and green chilli and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
  2. Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder, and stir. Add the yogurt and salt and stir lightly. Add the garam masala powder and mix well.
  3. Remove from heat, garnish with the chopped coriander and serve hot with roti.
