Ingredients 

  • 1 cup broken wheat
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 5-6 seedless dates, soaked for 1 hour
  • 1 tablespoon cashew nut powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 apple medium
  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add broken wheat, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add 4 cups water, mix, cover the cooker and cook under pressure till 4-5 whistles are released. Open the cooker once the pressure is reduced completely.
  2. Keep the cooker back on the heat, add seedless dates, cashew nut powder and honey and blend to a coarse mixture with an electric hand blender.
  3. Add milk mix well and cook for a minute on medium heat.
    Transfer into serving bowls. Top up with apple, garnish with mint sprig and serve warm.
