Ingredients for Eggless Mawa Elaichi Doughnuts Recipe

  • Refined Flour 2 cups + f

  • Khoya 1 cup

  • Green cardamom powder ½ tsp + fo

  • Green cardamoms 12-15

  • Salt 1 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon

  • Powdered sugar 1 tsp + 8

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Butter softened 110 grams

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) for coatin

Method

Step 1

Sift refined flour, salt, baking powder and 1 tsp powdered sugar into a bowl. Make well in the center and add activated yeast. Add milk and mawa and mix well. Add butter and mix well. Add cardamom powder and mix again. Knead into soft dough. Set aside till the dough rises.

Step 2

Knock back the dough, dust with refined flour and roll out the dough to about ½ inch thickness. Stamp out mini-doughnuts with a doughnut cutter.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry doughnuts on medium heat till golden.

Step 4

Grind green cardamoms and 8 tbsps sugar to a fine powder and spread on a plate. Coat the fried doughnuts in the cardamom-sugar powder. Or

Step 5

Spread castor sugar on a plate, add cardamom powder and coat the doughnuts in it. Transfer on a serving plate and serve immediately.
