Fusion food is a general term for the combination of various forms of cookery and comes in several forms.

Ingredients for Energy Bar Recipe

  • Oats 1 cup

  • Almonds , chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts , chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Walnuts , chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Pistachios , chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Flax seeds 2 tablespoons

  • Pumpkin seeds 2 tablespoons

  • Sunflower seeds 2 tablespoons

  • Cranberries , chopped 1/4 cup

  • Date paste 1/2 cup

  • Honey 1/3 cup

  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon

  • Butter 1 tsp + for greasing

Method

Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan, add oats and dry roast on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Transfer onto a plate and set aside to cool.

Step 2

In a same pan add almonds, cashewnuts, walnuts, pistachios, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and dry roast on medium heat for 2-3 minutes,

Step 3

Transfer onto another plate and set aside to cool.

Step 4

Grease a barfi tray with butter.

Step 5

Take cranberries in a mixing bowl, add oats, mixed nuts and seeds and date paste and mix well. Gradually add honey and mix well.

Step 6

Transfer this mixture onto the greased barfi tray, spread it evenly and keep it in refrigerator for 1½ hours.

Step 7

Cut into required shape, demould and serve.
