Ingredients for French Bread Crispies Recipe

  • Whole Meal French Breads 1

  • Tomatoes 2 tablespoons

  • Tomatoes 5-6 large

  • Garlic chopped 5-6 cloves

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 7-8 teaspoons

  • Red chilli flakes 1/2 teaspoon

  • Dry oregano 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh basil leaves a few


Step 1

Cut whole meal French bread diagonally into half-inch thick slices and toast them. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Quarter the tomatoes, deseed and gently separate the flesh from the skin.

Step 2

Chop the flesh. Mix together olive oil, chopped tomatoes, chopped garlic, salt, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli flakes and oregano.

Step 3

Place the above mixture over each bread slice and grill in the preheated oven at 180°C for three to four minutes. Tear the basil leaves with hands and sprinkle over the toast and serve immediately.
