Ingredients for Fried Chocolate Mango Recipe

  • Chocolate chopped and melted 2 cups

  • Refined flour (maida) for dusting

  • Ripe mangoes peeled, cut into wedges and frozen for 2-3 hours 3

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Cornflour/ corn starch ¼ cup

  • Rice flour ¼ cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup + for dusting

  • Baking powder ¼ teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Dip the frozen mangoes in the melted chocolate and place on a silicon sheet. Freeze for two to three hours.

Step 2

To make the tempura batter, combine the cornstarch, rice flour, refined flour, baking powder and salt and mix lightly. Add one cup ice cold water and whisk lightly to form a thick batter.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a pan.

Step 4

Dust the frozen mangoes with flour, dip in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Serve immediately.
