Ingredients list for Garlicky Mushroom Pakoras

  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 24 Button Mushrooms trimmed
  • 1 1/2 cups Gram flour (besan)

Method

  1. Combine gram flour, salt, baking powder, cumin seeds and red chilli powder in a bowl. Mix well, gradually stir in one cup water and whisk to form a smooth batter. Add garlic and onion and mix well. Set aside for ten minutes.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the mushrooms in the batter and slide into the oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot garnished with lemon wedges and coriander sprigs.
