  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • For masala
  • 3-4 Dried red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3-4 Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 3 Cloves
  • a pinch Nutmeg powder
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • FOR SAUCE
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 8-10 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder

Method

  1. To prepare the masala, dry roast red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg on a non stick tawa till fragrant. Cool and grind to a coarse powder. Mix it with oil, ginger paste and garlic paste and set aside.
  2. Heat the butter on the non stick tawa, place the paneer fingers on it and grill till they are nicely browned on all sides. You can achieve the same results in a sandwich toaster. For the sauce, heat oil in a non stick pan.
  3. dd garlic and sauté for half a minute. Add the onion, red chilli flakes, prepared masala, soy sauce and honey and cook for a few minutes. Mix cornflour with a quarter cup of water and add and stir to mix well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper powder. Serve the grilled paneer hot, accompanied with honey chilli sauce.
