Ingredients list for Honey Walnut Prawns

  • 16 tablespoons Honey shelled and deveined
  • 8-10 Walnut Kernels
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 4-5 tablespoons Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons Crushed red chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 7-8 cloves Garlic,crushed
  • 12-15 Dried button red chillies (bor mirchi)
  • 1/4 small Green capsicum diced
  • 1/4 small Yellow capsicum diced
  • 1/4 small Red capsicum diced

Method

  1. Heat oil in non stick wok. Place prawns in bowl, add salt, ¼ tsp crushed red chillies, 2 tsps lemon juice, 1½ tsps soy sauce and cornstarch and mix well.
  2. Put the prawns in the wok and saute on high heat till golden. Drain and place on a plate. Keeping 1 tbsp oil, remove excess oil from the wok into a bowl. Add garlic and red chillies to the wok and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add walnut kernels, all 3 capsicums, salt, remaining crushed red chillies and toss.Add very little water and remaining soy sauce. Toss again.Add fried prawns, 1 tbsp lemon juice and honey. Toss and cook for 1 minute. Serve hot.
