Ingredients for Jackfruit Payasam - SK khazana Recipe

  • Jackfruit chopped 1 cup

  • Coconut milk 1 1/2 cups

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts roughly chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh coconut sliced 2 tablespoons

  • Raisins 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Jaggery (gur) chopped 3/4 cup

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add cashew nuts, coconut slices and raisins, mix and sauté on medium heat till golden brown. Drain them on absorbent paper.

Step 2

Add jackfruit to the ghee remaining in the same pan, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add 1½ cups water, mix, cover and cook till the jackfruit is pulpy.

Step 3

Add jaggery and mix, add green cardamom powder and mix well. Cook till jaggery melts and mixture thickens slightly.

Step 4

Add coconut milk and mix well. Add ¾ of the sautéed cashew nuts-coconut-raisins and mix well. Cook till the coconut milk gets heated through.

Step 5

Transfer into serving bowls, garnish with the remaining cashew nuts-coconut-raisins mixture and serve hot.
