Ingredients list for Jain Bread Cutlet

  • 6-8 White bread slices
  • for shallo for greasing Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon White sesame seeds
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Discard the edges of bread slices. Roughly chop the breads and transfer in a bowl. Add little water and crush it completely.
  2. Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, sesame seeds, green chillies, sugar, salt, lemon juice and coriander. Mix well and knead into a soft dough.
  3. Grease the sides of heart shaped cookie cutter with oil, place a portion of dough on a worktop and cut out heart shaped cutlet using the cookie cutter. Similarly prepare the rest.
  4. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place the cutlets and shallow-fry on low heat till both sides are crisp and brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot along with tomato ketchup.
