Ingredients for Kaju Ussal - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Cashewnuts soaked for 2-3 hours 1 1/2 cups

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon

  • Green chillies slit 2

  • Green peas blanched 1/4 cup

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Goda masala 2 tablespoons

  • coriander leaves chopped 1/4 cup

  • Scraped coconut 1/2 cup

  • coriander sprig for garnish

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida and green chillies and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 2

Add green peas, cashewnuts, turmeric powder, salt, sugar, goda masala, coriander leaves and scraped coconut, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
