Ingredients list for Lahori Fish Fry

  • 250 grams Fish fillet boneless, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Caraway seeds (shahi jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 tablespoon Dried pomegranate seeds (anardana)
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • to taste Salt
  • a pinch Black salt (kala namak)
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ Lemon
  • 2-3 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala

Method

  1. Grind together coriander seeds, caraway seeds, carom seeds and pomegranate seeds to make a fine powder.
  2. Take fish in a bowl. Add ground powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, black salt, egg, lemon juice and mix. Add gram flour and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  4. Deep-fry the marinated fish pieces in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and serve hot.
