Ingredients list for Lehsooni Aloo Tikki

  • 6 medium Potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 4-6 cloves Garlic chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 6-8 Cashewnuts crushed
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup Paneer (cottage cheese) grated
  • to deep fry Oil

  1. Add salt to mashed potatoes and make a smooth dough. Divide into ten to twelve equal portions. Mix cashewnuts with onion, garlic, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, salt and paneer.
  2. Divide the mixture into ten to twelve equal portions. Stuff each portion of mashed potato with a portion of the paneer mixture. Roll and shape into tikkis of approximately two-inch diameter and half-inch thickness. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the tikkis to a golden brown.
  3. Drain and place on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
