Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Masala Nuts Recipe

  • Almonds 20

  • Pistachios 20

  • Cashewnuts 20

  • Walnut kernels 20

  • Whole dry red chillies 5-6

  • Peppercorns 5-6

  • Star anise 1/4

  • Dry mango powder (amchur) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Black salt (kala namak) to taste

  • Honey 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Break the dry red chillies, remove seeds and put them in a mixer. Add black peppercorns, star anise, dry mango powder, black salt and grind to a powder.

Step 2

Roast almonds, pistachios, cashewnuts and walnuts. Take the masala powder in a bowl. Add the roasted nuts and mix. Add honey and mix.
