The Maharashtrian hospitality is legendary. The cuisine has subtle variety and strong flavours and varies from region to region. Ingredients for Masala papad Recipe

  • Urad dal Papads 4

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Tomato chopped 4 medium

  • Onion chopped 4 medium

  • Pomegranate pearls 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Puffed rice (kurmura/murmura) 1/2 kilogram

  • Salt to taste

  • Sev 1 cup

  • Raw peanuts 1 cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick kadai. Deep fry the papads and set it aside. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 2

In the same oil fry the peanuts. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside. In a bowl mix together tomatoes, onions, pomegranate pearsls, lemon juice, murmura, salt, sev and fried peanuts and top the mixture on the papads.

Step 3

Serve garnished with coriander leaves.
