Ingredients list for Masoor Dal

  • 2 cups Split Red Lentil soaked in water
  • 1 tablespoon Curry Powder
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Curry powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • a few coriander sprig

  1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add onion and green chilli and sauté for four to five minutes. Add ginger, garlic, curry powder and salt, mix well and cook for two to three minutes.
  2. Add three cups of water and lentils, mix and cook for twenty to twenty-five minutes. Add lemon juice, mix well and switch off heat. Garnish with a coriander sprig and serve piping hot.
