Ingredients list for Matar Ka Chaat

  • 2 cups Fresh Green Peas boiled
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Chaat masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 teaspoons Tamarind paste
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • For garnishing
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Potato salli

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add green chillies and sauté for a minute.
  2. Add green peas, mix well and mash with a masher.
  3. Add red chilli powder, chaat masala and salt, mix well and sauté for a minute.
  4. Switch off the heat and transfer the pea mixture into a bowl. Add onion, tomato, tamarind paste and lemon juice and mix well.
  5. Transfer into small serving bowls, garnish with tamarind chutney and potato salli and serve.
