Ingredients list for Maune

  • 2 cups Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 1/4 cups Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 6 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 1/4 cups Milk
  • to deep fry Oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.Knead together refined flour, castor sugar, ghee and milk to make a stiff dough.
  2. Cover with a damp cloth and rest for a few minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into small roundels called maunes.
  4. Place the maunes on a baking tray and place the tray in the preheated oven.
  5. Bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes or till light golden.
  6. Serve hot.
