Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Mayonnaise Recipe

  • Egg yolk 1

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • French mustard 1/4 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1/4 teaspoon

  • Vinegar 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Take a clean bowl. Place egg yolk, salt, white pepper powder, mustard powder, sugar and vinegar in it and mix it thoroughly with a whisk or hand or else transfer to a blender.

Step 2

Add oil, a little at a time, whisking/blending continuously, until all the oil is incorporated. Finish the sauce by adding lemon juice and adjust the seasoning.
