Ingredients list for Methi Rice

  • 2 teaspoons Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • 2 cups Rice soaked
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 2 Whole red chillies stemmed and broken
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 cup Butter milk

Method

  1. Soak the fenugreek seeds for 15 minute.
  2. Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom pan, add fenugreek seeds and broken red chillies.
  3. Now add onion slices and sauté till they are soft, then add black pepper, salt, rice, butter milk and 2 cups water, cook till done.
  4. Serve hot with raita.
