Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Moong Dal Puri Recipe

  • Split green gram with skin 1/2 cup

  • Wholewheat Flour 2 1/2 cups

  • Green chilli paste 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger paste 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 tbsp + to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Wash and soak the dal for 2-3 hours. Drain and grind into a fine paste with very little water. mix the other ingredients along with 1 tablespoon oil to flour and knead into a medium soft dough.

Step 2

Keep covered for an hour. Divide into small size balls. Roll out each into a puri. Heat oil and fry the puris on medium heat till golden and crisp. Serve hot
