Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Moong and Tomato Soup Recipe

  • Whole Green Gram 1/2 cup

  • Tomatoes chopped 2 small

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar a pinch

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon


Step 1

Pressure cook moong and tomato in sufficient water until soft. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 2

Blend these with salt, sugar, red chilli powder and sufficient water till consistent. Strain and boil for two minutes.

Step 3

Serve hot.
