Ingredients list for Open Caprese Sandwich

  • 4 Focaccia bread slices
  • For topping Pesto sauce
  • 2 medium Tomatoes sliced
  • 150 grams Mozzarella cheese sliced
  • as required Fresh basil leaves
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • to taste Salt
  • to sprinkle Balsamic vinegar

Method

  1. Toast bread slices on a non-stick pan, turning sides till golden on both sides.Transfer onto the worktop.
  2. Spread some pesto on the toasted bread slices. Place some tomato slices and mozzarella slices alternatively. Put few basil leaves and sprinkle some crushed peppercorns and salt on top.
  3. Place these sandwiches on a serving platter, drizzle some balsamic reduction on top and serve immediately.
