Ingredients for Papaya Chi Wadi Recipe

  • Raw Mango 1 small small

  • Gram flour 1 medium

  • Garlic 5-6 cloves

  • Ginger 1 inch piece

  • Green chillies 4-5

  • Fresh coriander leaves bunch 1/4 medium

  • Oil 2 tablespo

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Peel, wash and grate papaya. Peel, wash and finely chop onion. Peel and wash garlic and ginger. Remove stems and wash green chillies. Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies to a fine paste using little water. When it cools divide into sixteen equal portions. Roll into balls and flatten slightly. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry papaya wadis till crisp and golden. DWhen it cools divide into sixteen equal portions. Roll into balls and flatten slightly. Step 2

Clean, wash and finely chop coriander leaves. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan, add onion and sauté till light brown. Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and sauté for two minutes. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and sauté for a minute.

Step 3

Stir well and add grated papaya and cook for five minutes. Sprinkle lemon juice stir, add gram flour, stir well. Cover with a lid and cook for five to seven minutes stirring occasionally. Remove pan from heat, transfer mixture into a plate.

Step 4

When it cools divide into sixteen equal portions. Roll into balls and flatten slightly. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry papaya wadis till crisp and golden
