Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Prawn Noodle Soup - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Medium prawns peeled,deveined and washed 1 cup

  • Noodles boiled 2 cups

  • Seafood stock 3 cups

  • Ginger cut into thin strips 1 inch

  • Pak choy chopped 2-3 leaves

  • Chinese cabbage shredded 1/2 cup

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Broccoli cut into small florets 1/4 small

  • Eggs boiled 2

  • Nori sheet 1/2

  • Red chilli oil for drizzling

  • Spring onion bulbs finely chopped for garnish

  • Spring onion greens diagonally sliced for garnish

  • Fried garlic for garnish


Step 1

Boil seafood stock in a non-stick wok. Add ginger strips, prawns, salt, bok choy and Chinese cabbage, mix and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 2

Add crushed peppercorns and mix well. Add broccoli florets, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Put ½ cup noodles in the centre of each serving bowls and pour some soup on top.

Step 4

Cut egg into thin roundels and place on top of noodles.

Step 5

Heat the nori sheet on direct flame, turning sides, to make it crisp. Cut into thin strips with a pair of scissors directly over each bowl.

Step 6

Drizzle some chilli oil, garnish with some spring onion bulbs, spring onion greens and some fried garlic and serve hot.
