Ingredients list for Prawn Onion Bhajji

  • 8-12 Medium prawns shelled and deveined
  • 1 Large Onion sliced
  • 4-5 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds crushed
  • ½ teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Take onion and gram flour in a bowl and mix. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed coriander seeds, carom seeds and salt and mix well. Add water as required and mix well.
  3. Take prawns in another bowl. Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
  4. Coat each prawn with onion-flour mixture and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot.
