By Sanjeev Kapoor 22 Feb 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Whole wheat flour, sugar Cuisine Indian Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Roth 1/2 kilogram Whole wheat flour 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 1 cup Milk 4 tbsps + to deep fry Ghee 3 tablespoons Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto) Method Mix sugar, one cup of water and cardamom powder in a pan and simmer on low heat till the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and keep aside. Mix the flour, sugar water, milk and four tablespoons of ghee and knead it to slightly hard dough. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each portion into a thick chappati. Take a fork and prick all over it. Heat ghee in a kadai and deep-fry the chappati till golden brown and crisp. Drain onto an absorbent paper. Sprinkle a little of khus khus on the chappati while still hot. Serve.
