Ingredients list for Saeb Aur Suji Halwa

  • 1/2 cup Semolina (rawa/suji)
  • 2 large Apples,thinly sliced
  • 1 large Apple,pureed
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • a pinch Saffron (kesar)
  • 5-6 Pistachios blanched and slivered

Method

  1. Dry roast semolina taking care that it does not get coloured. Boil milk with one cup of water in a deep pan.
  2. Add sugar, green cardamom powder and half of the saffron to it. Slowly add the semolina and cook, stirring, till it becomes semi-dry.
  3. Add pureed apple. Cook for two to three minutes. Divide into four portions. Pack each portion tightly into a bowl, turn it upside down onto a serving plate and de-mould. Decorate with apple slices, pistachios and saffron.
