Ingredients list for Sarson Shalgam

  • 1 bunch Mustard Greens
  • 1 medium Turnip (shalgam)
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 medium Onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies, chopped
  • 15-20 Spinach leaves (palak)
  • 3/4 cup Bathua saag
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Chop the sarsaon ka saag.
  2. heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and let them change colour.
  3. Discard the crown of the turnip and peel it. Cut into medium pieces.
  4. Add onions to pan and sauté till light brown.Add garlic and mix well. Add green chillies and chopped sarson ka saag.
  5. Chop spinach leaves and bathua saag together and add to pan. Adjust salt and mix well.
  6. Add turnip pieces and ¼ cup water. Stir to mix and cook till done. Serve hot.
