Ingredients
- 4 medium turnips (shalgam), peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
- 250 grams cauliflower, separated into small florets
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- 4 green chillies
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried mango powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger, piece cut into thin strips
Method
- Heat oil in a non stick kadai, add cumin seeds, ajwain and sauté till fragrant. Slit green chillies and add along with ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
- Add shalgam and cauliflower, cover and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, amchur, salt and sauté for a minute.
- Add tomatoes and ginger and mix. Add 1 cup water, cover and cook for 12-15 minutes. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
