Ingredients list for Sitaphal Basoondi

  • 4 Custard apples (sitaphal/sharifa)
  • 2 litres Milk
  • 1/2 tin Sweet condensed milk (200 gms)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 10-12 Almonds , blanched, peeled and slivefed
  • 10-12 Pistachios , blanched, peeled and slivered

Method

  1. Heat milk in a wide and shallow non-stick pan, stirring occasionally, till it reduces to half its original quantity.
  2. Meanwhile separate the segments of the custard apples, remove the seeds and put the pulp into a bowl.
  3. Add condensed milk to the pan and mix. Add green cardamom powder and mix.
  4. Switch the heat off and add custard apple pulp and mix well.
  5. Transfer into individual bowls, sprinkle almonds and pistachios, chill and serve.
