Ingredients list for Smoked Chaas

  • 2 cups Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh mint leaves chopped
  • 1 tablespo for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Method

  1. Grind together 1 cup yogurt, mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt and ginger to a smooth mixture.
  2. Add 2 cup water and mix well.
  3. Place hot coal in a small steel bowl and place it into a large bowl. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the large bowl. Place curry leaves, green chillies and cumin seeds over the coal and pour oil over them. Cover the large bowl with an aluminium foil and keep for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil, pour the chaas into serving glasses, and serve garnished with coriander leaves.
