Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Sofiyani Chicken Tikka Recipe

  • Boneless chicken legs cut into 1 inch cubes 300 grams

  • Fennel powder 2 teaspoons

  • Hung yogurt 1 tablespoon

  • Coriander-mint paste 1 tablespoon

  • Roasted gram flour 2 teaspoons

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Green chilli paste 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Mustard oil 2 teaspoons

  • Sal to taste

  • Mayonnaise 1 to taste

  • Refined oil to grease

  • Butter for basting

  • Onion rings for garnish

  • Lemon wedges for garnish

  • Green chutney to serve

Method

Step 1

Take chicken pieces in a bowl, add hung yogurt, coriander-mint paste, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, green-chilli paste, fennel powder, mustard oil, salt and mayonnaise and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat the air fryer to 200˚C.

Step 3

Grease the air fryer basket with oil, arrange the marinated chicken pieces in it, fit the basket to the fryer and air fry for 15minutes.

Step 4

Remove the cooked chicken pieces from the air fryer and baste with butter.

Step 5

Arrange them on a serving platter, garnish with onion rings and lemon wedge and serve hot with green chutney.
