How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Spicy Fried Rice Recipe

  • Rice soaked 1 1/2 cups

  • Red Kidney Beans soaked overnight 3/4 cup

  • French beans 2 cm pieces 10

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh red chillies deseeded & chopped 4

  • Fish sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup


Step 1

Drain rice and then boil in four cups of salted boiling water until done. Drain and keep aside. Drain and boil red kidney beans in two cups of water until soft. Drain and keep aside.

Step 2

Boil the French beans pieces in salted boiling water, cool in chilled water and then drain. Heat oil, add chopped garlic and red chillies, stir for a moment. Add boiled red kidney beans and French beans, mix well.

Step 3

Add fish sauce, soy sauce and stir well. Add boiled rice, adjust salt and white pepper powder. Mix thoroughly. Cook for two to three minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve immediately.
