Ingredients for Spicy Lamb Chops Recipe

  • Lamb chops (chaampan) single cut 500 grams

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon + for garnishing

  • Paprika powder 1 teaspoon

  • Soy sauce 3 tablespoons

  • Egg 1

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 1 teaspoon + for shallow frying

  • Garlic minced 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger grated 1 tablespoon

  • brown sugar/jaggery 1 tablespoon

  • Rice wine vinegar 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard paste 1 tablespoon

  • Five spice powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Boil 4-5 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add lamb chops, cover and boil on low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, strain and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Place them on a plate.

Step 2

Rub 1 teaspoon soy sauce on the chops. Break egg on them and mix well. Add refined flour and coat well.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place lamb chops in it and shallow-fry till the chops are fully done and crispy.

Step 4

Heat 1 teaspoon oil in another non-stick wok. Add garlic and sauté.

Step 5

Add ginger, brown sugar, rice vinegar and remaining soy sauce, mix well and cook till the sugar melts.

Step 6

Reduce heat and add mustard paste, paprika powder, red chilli flakes and five spice powder. Mix well and adjust salt.

Step 7

Add fried lamb chops and toss so that the sauce coats the chops completely. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 8

Serve hot garnished with red chilli flakes.
