Ingredients list for Steamed Fruit Pudding

  • 1 medium Apple
  • 2 medium chikoos
  • 2 medium Bananas
  • 2 Egg whites
  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoons Honey

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C. Peel and core the apple. Peel chikoos and remove seeds. Peel bananas and grind to a fine paste along with apple and chikoos. Mix wheat flour with baking power and cinnamon powder and sieve.
  2. Mix fruit puree, egg white and honey with a light hand. Add what flour and combine well. Pour into pudding mould. Cover tightly with silver foil.
  3. Put the pudding mould in a hot water container and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for thirty to forty minutes or till it is set. Check by inserting a skewer into the pudding and if the skewer comes out clean then it is cooked. Serve warm or chilled.
