History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.

Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Suji Bread Recipe

  • Bread slices 4

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 3 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped 1 medium

  • Tomato chopped 1 medium

  • Green chilli deseeded & chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Fresh cream 2 tablespoons

  • Oil shallow fry

Method

Step 1

In a large bowl mix together semolina, onion, tomatoes, green chilli, salt, black pepper powder and malai and mix well.

Step 2

Cut the sides of bread and heat a non-stick tawa and apply the mixture on the top side of the bread and put it on the tawa with the filling side on the tawa.

Step 3

Pour oil and cook till it becomes crispy. Remove and cut into triangular pieces. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
