Ingredients
- 15 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 whole dry red chillies, stemmed
- 2 green cardamoms
- 2-3 curry leaves
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 7 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons oil
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, dry red chillies, green cardamoms, curry leaves and onions and saute for a minute.
- Add salt, sugar and turmeric powder and saute for two to three minutes.
- Add tomatoes and cover and cook for ten to fifteen minutes or till the tomatoes get cooked and the gravy thickens.
- Serve hot.
