How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Thai Fried Rice Recipe

  • Basmati rice cooked 3 cups

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Spring onion bulb 1

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Eggs 2

  • Fish sauce 2 teaspoons

  • Green peas blanched 1/2 cup

  • Green chilli sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Brown sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon 1

  • Cucumber roughly sliced for garnishing

  • Fresh red chilli flower 1


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick wok. Slice spring onion bulb and some of its stem.

Step 2

Add garlic and spring onion bulb ton the pan and saute well.

Step 3

Add eggs and scramble well. Add rice, fish sauce, green peas and toss well.

Step 4

Add chilli sauce, brown sugar and toss again. Add salt and toss and let the rice get heated through.

Step 5

Cut lemon into thin wedges and add. Mix well.

Step 6

Serve hot garnished with cucumber slices and red chilli flower.
