Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Volcanic Black Pepper Sauce Recipe

  • Black Peppercorns 1/4 cup

  • Onions sliced 3 medium

  • Oil 3/4 cup

  • Garlic sliced 30 cloves

  • Ginger sliced 4 one-inch pieces

  • Oyster sauce 3/4 cup

  • Tomato ketchup 1 1/2 cups

  • Vinegar 1/2 cup +

  • Sugar 5 teaspoons

  • Dark soy sauce 3 tablespoons

  • Salt 3 1/2 teaspoons

  • Button mushrooms 8 medium

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Crush the roasted black peppercorns in a mixer.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and sauté for a minute. Add ginger and garlic and sauté for two minutes. Add peppercorns and continue to sauté for two minutes.

Step 3

Add oyster sauce and tomato ketchup and mix. Add vinegar, sugar, dark soy sauce and salt. Mix and cook till the desired consistency is reached.

Step 4

String the button mushrooms onto toothpicks and place them on a grill pan. Sprinkle salt and lemon juice and grill.

Step 5

Grind the sauce mixture and transfer into a bowl. Sprinkle some water over the mushrooms, cover and cook till the mushrooms are done.

Step 6

Put some of the sauce and toss and cook for one minute. Serve hot.
